About me

Hello.  I am Suzy.  I come from Ireland, grew up in England, and live in Scotland, thus I have no national identity and am frequently suspected of being American, Australian or Canadian depending on who I’m talking to.

I am an economist working on a PhD in Economics.  Before I started it, I worked in business consultancy and in the public sector.  Now, as well as dabbling in academia, I run my own consultancy business, employing me.  I love my boss.

Apart from working (or procrastinating) I sing, play piano, draw, bind books, run, go to the gym, play tennis, ride horses, bake cakes, drink coffee and sleep.   I live with two pet cats and a tank of tropical fish.  I like being outdoors and miss having a garden.

This blog started as my response to a traumatic, tumultuous period in my life where I saw lots of things change.  It has become an outlet for my random musings, a conduit to untangle my thoughts and overall, a great source of distraction from work.
